Road tripping to the Lake of the Ozarks which is only a few short hours from our home, typically I am the one who wants to stop first on every trip but this time Eric wanted to! He wanted to go Eat at Dads Junction Cafe which is in New Florence MO.
Before we got there Eric was talking about the Pork Tenderloin that they are famous for, nothing could prepare me for what I saw next…
I went with the “Trucker Load” which was by no account any smaller…..
When we made it to the Ozarks it was somewhat gloomy, raining off and on but I must say any spot surrounding the lake has a beautiful view!
One of my favorite places we visited that weekend was Ha Ha Tonka State park- NO, I am not laughing it is actually called “Ha Ha Tonka State Park” http://mostateparks.com/park/ha-ha-tonka-state-park
Warning when you go off the beaten path….WATCH YOUR HEAD….EEEEEeeeeekkkkk!!
As if the beautiful scenery isn’t enough Ha Ha Tonka State park has stone ruins of a mansion that began being built in 1905, it is known as the “castle” because it was modeled after later European castles from the 1500s.
Another VERY neat place we went is known as the Bridal Cave! There have been over 2128 couples from around the world who have exchanged their vows in the cave! The gift shop displays photos of each couple, it was awesome to go back in time and be able to see some of the older pics!
For more tourist fun we went and had Old time photos taken! Who knew it was so hard to decide what to wear even back then!
Eric really got into character, I think he may have been this “guy” in a past life! lol
The finished product if Eric and I met sooner!! Not sure what or who we were….I went for a senorita vibe while Eric went with a mobster country look!
We spent Easter Sunday there that year and had dinner on the back patio at night, must say it was one of my favorite Easter memories!
