Relocate from your comfort zone to Success

The picture above is funny, just like most of us he has a smile and thinks he is winning by being in his comfort zone….the problem is he will always remain in that bed and he won’t see all of the opportunities around him that can make life MAGICAL!

“The comfort zone is a place to rest, not to live” This quote really made me stop and think, reflecting on my own life there have been times I’ve taken the leap out of my comfort zone and as a result had a positive outcome. The leaps I’ve taken made me more comfortable, more confident, opened new opportunities and the list continues but somehow I’ve let myself stay stagnant for quite a bit of time.

The other benefit to trying new things is that it EXPANDS your comfort zone, so if you have a habit of hiding there then at least make it bigger so you can stretch out!

Assess whether you are resting or living in YOUR comfort zone and then decide what you can do to step outside of it. What will it be? What will your next move bring into your life?

I know I personally have never had a regret after I did something “bold” (we all have our own definition of boldness) I’ve always grown from it and I’m excited to continue the jumps but now I’m going to do it daily, weekly, monthly NOT just yearly!

Mentors are EVERYWHERE

Once you learn that Mentors come in all shapes and forms you will begin to see them EVERYWHERE you look and in every lesson you learn!

Before knowing the true meaning of mentor(ing) I had this stereotype ingrained in my mind, it was a business person, older, more mature, polished, in a suit and this person was very successful throughout their lifetime. If you paid them the right rate they would spend a little bit of time with you telling you about their life and if you were lucky you might be able to replicate some of the stories into your own success.

I AM SO THRILLED I WAS WRONG ABOUT THAT! ( I don’t want to mimic someone else, I have my own ideas and so do you!)

So what is a mentor really? Anything that teaches you or guides you! It can be something as simple as a book you read or a picture you saw. If you think about it some of the best mentors are actually not “matured” people at all but the exact opposite, and by that I mean CHILDREN! Children can teach you so many things like how a picture can be just as beautiful and in fact more colorful by scribbling outside of the lines, or that a box can be reused into something wonderful.

Other examples of Mentors:

  • Pets
  • A life change
  • A story
  • An encounter at the store
  • A TV show
  • A goal

Those are just examples showing that there isn’t one kind, but your mentors are personal to YOU!

When you are open to the lessons showing up in your life day after day you will suddenly be surrounded by mentors…..they are EVERYWHERE!

Book Review: Reinventing Yourself

Reinventing Yourself

Steve Chandler

Book Theme: Take Action now, stop the excuses, stop the “story” we all tell ourselves, stop being weaker than you really are.

What Stands Out: The author has such a genuine yet realistic approach on exactly how to help others. There isn’t sugar coating, beating around the bush or pages filled with opportunity for your personal interpretation…he spells it out crystal clear.

Best for LOA Beginners or Advanced: Best for ANYONE! I personally struggle with the take action part of the LOA, I’ve studied LOA for years and made big changes however I still pull back a bit when it comes to taking that leap into action. So for me who is not a beginner in LOA it is still very helpful.

Learn Anything New: It’s funny because once you read it you will grasp that you already DEEP DEEP down knew some of these concepts. Some of them you carried as a child constantly reinventing yourself but then as you grow older and get more mainstream you lose so much of what you once had. Also, it really makes you look at life and decide if you are a victim or an owner, and the answer might surprise you!

Would You Recommend: I highly recommend this book, it’s a quick read split into 46 tiny chapters of constant lessons. There isn’t fluff, the author is creative, relatable, witty, and even a little shocking which all combines to become a true self help book.

Punta Cana Views

We took so many pictures in Punta Cana that I have to separate these into different posts! This post is dedicated simply to the views!

HANDS DOWN Punta Cana was the single most beautiful location I have ever personally experienced (I haven’t been everywhere yet but even my imagination can’t come up with a more gorgeous scene) the water is a turquoise teal with rich shades of sea weed green scattered in spots, the sand is as fine as powder or flour and then closer to the shore turns to the feel of memory foam.

The temperature was like clock work heating up and maintaining the heat with soft breezes from 8 am through 5 pm then as the sun goes down it was important to have pants and even some nights a sweater!

A little side story- I was recently reading in a book about how in every situation you should rise above and see the BIGGER picture (in turn it makes problems and obstacles seem so small) and the example given in the book is how when you rise above in an airplane and see the big picture suddenly there is beautiful pattern and consistency with the world vs. some of the chaos you might see when you are down there in it……it really is true isn’t it?? Can’t think of a better example than flying above and looking out of the tiny window!

The view from every angle is pure beauty!

That is my husband swimming to the drinks! It took us a few days to find that perfect frozen cocktail but once we did we caught up on the missed days! I know this had rum in it, and I know each one had one full banana but not sure one the rest. It tasted like a strawberry starburst in frozen drink form!

I thought our views were great but this man may have the best views there are. It was amazing to see him climb this palm tree, inch by inch with a rope and some serious body strength.

I hope you enjoyed these pics! I’m going to write a few more posts about Punta Cana and our trip including an awesome excursion that taught me quite a bit!

Half Review: Reinventing Yourself

I have just started reading this book and will do a full review once I’m done but I just wanted to say a few things about the book that I’ve already enjoyed!

My library consists of 99% self help/motivational books with my primary subject always being the law of attraction. I’ve noticed that sometimes I pass up on books because if they aren’t in line with LOA I feel like I am working against myself in a sense.

I started reading this book because of the title “Reinventing Yourself” I love the idea that you can change the things you don’t like or super charge the things you LOVE about your life. Looking back as many of us do I noticed about 2 major times I reinvented myself and changed the path of my life and I have zero regrets so it led me to thinking if life is so short why on earth would I only “Reinvent” myself twice so far?! I could be making these positive changes daily!

This book so far is teaching me to move out of my comfort zone a bit which will expand my opportunities. This is the first time I have heard “Your comfort zone is a place to rest, not to live”

The author shares great stories both personal and famous to give examples of what he is writing.

Review to be continued….

LOA and travel-bags are packed!

Right now my husband and I are packing to head to a destination we have both wanted to see since we’ve been married (7 months!)  We set this goal on our honeymoon to try to go to this spot within our first year of marriage but with being newlyweds and starting a business it honestly SEEMED out of reach for us!

We talked about it a few times but thought maybe next year would be better timing. Finally we set a tentative date of going which would be on or right after my husbands 28th birthday. I really believe setting the date was exactly what we needed to get the trip in motion!

We researched resorts months in advance, checked the weather of our destination regularly, read tons of reviews on trip advisor, scrolled through visitors pictures and all of this “research” kept us in the mentality that we were going to experience this and book it. We still didn’t book it for various reasons but regardless looking at pictures and hearing stories about the area kept us in the state of “feeling” the trip was real and was going to happen. That truly is the key isn’t it? Even if you don’t manifest “quickly” it feel SO good to surround yourself as much as possible with your desire!

Well the months came and went and there was no trip booked, then last week we decided it’s not too late, everything suddenly lined up and we booked it literally at the last possible moment. We leave in a few short days to go to……..

I will have some posts of our trip up in a few weeks but I really wanted to share how LOA played a major roll in this opportunity. It was about deciding, making it absolute clear in our minds (by setting the date and researching details we didn’t previously know) and finally taking inspired action when the opportunity  presented itself!

In our case the opportunity presented itself very close to our goal date so we could have found reasons not to take action such as “Well it’s really late to plan a trip like this last minute let’s just wait until next year so we can have it booked months in advance” Those types of limiting thoughts are what keep our LIVES limited! If we wait for the perfect timing to take a swing…think of how many potential hits we could miss!

Also, If you can set your goal with someone else if it involves them they do that, my husband was finding details about the trip that I missed and vice versa, together we were able to talk about “when we get there”

Visualization tip: Make a MEMORY!

Visualization tip: Make a MEMORY!

Many LOA resources will tell you how you have to feel whatever it is that you DESIRE  right now, if you constantly see it as something you will have in the FUTURE most likely it will always remain in the FUTURE. That makes perfect sense to me however I never thought about how vision boards often look like a future board.

The trick when making a vision board is to make it feel real to you NOW, don’t make it so extreme that is looks like a board of “out there” ideas. That may be hard for you -to feel it now- so another technique is to make it feel PAST……like a MEMORY! You see, it makes sense that if you look at a vision board and it looks so unrelatable  that it could only be future desires then making something to look like you already achieved your desires puts you much more in the feeling state of already having your desires!!!!

If that doesn’t make sense hopefully this will, it’s a vision board technique using scrap booking!

What you can do is use the first half of your scrapbook to document what you have achieved already in life (ex. pic of you traveling, news article you were in, train ticket, wedding pics, your business card etc.) real memories or moments you have had that feel great to look back on!

The second part is to use the remaining half of your scrapbook to create what you desire to happen but scrapbook it just like you did the original events…..make it as though it’s a done deal, it’s been achieved.

Then when you open your scrapbook and read it from beginning to end you can get the emotions of reading the story of your life!

Memories are a GREAT way to evoke emotion and raise your vibration. Isn’t it neat how you can suddenly think of a hilarious moment and before you realize it you are smiling or laughing out loud? Or you may have a memory so heart warming that when you picture it in your mind it brings tears of joy to your eyes! THAT IS POWERFUL…..MEMORIES ARE POWERFUL!

I am going to give this a shot, I love scrap booking and I love vision boards but have never before thought to combine the two!

What do you REALLY want? tough question sometimes!

For many (including myself) it’s the HARDEST question and also the most important answer you must have when using the Law of Attraction!

What do you REALLY want?

Hmmmm maybe you just have a general idea, or you sort of like something and think you are attracted to it, which is great but that’s just the start 😉

If you have studied LOA you will see and hear over and over again about how you MUST GET CLEAR about what you want, you must have a detailed vision!

I heard a great tip today about one exercise you can practice to help figure out your answer to this question!

Watch yourself in a movie, no you don’t have to get a film crew, you don’t even need a camera! Like with many practices using the LOA all you need is your MIND!

There are different ways to use visualization-you have to find what you are most comfortable with for it to be most effective in your life! One way is to see yourself outside of your body, like being a 3rd party watching yourself.

This exercise is to visualize yourself in a “movie” of your life! How do you look? Where do you live? What do you do? What are your top values? How do you interact with others?

The key is to create  different scenarios and the things you feel most comfortable seeing are the things you truly want in life!

An example might be that you see yourself living on a gorgeous boat, your days are spent with beautiful blue waves for as far as your eyes can see, you have the calming sounds of water all around you each day and all of the privacy you love, your boat has every amenity imaginable to give you comfort. As you see yourself on this boat relaxed, being secluded with maybe your significant other, living your day-to-day in the water and that might feel really good!

BUT….

Let’s say you then visualize yourself living in a gated community in Orange county, you see yourself driving through your street waving to neighbors, passing beautiful homes with pristine curb appeal and finally feeling so much pride as you pull to the center of your circle driveway and walk into a house full of your children excited to greet you. You spend your day splashing in the pool with the people you love and end the night having dinner on the patio under the stars…..and maybe to you this visualization felt GREAT!

So now between these two scenarios you learned that you prefered a home you could be proud of and having children.

The beauty of this is that you have unlimited TAKES, you can change the scenario whenever you want and eventually you will have worked out so many combinations that you finally have a clear vision of what feels BEST to you.

3…..2……1…..ACTION-ATTRACTION!

The Conscious and Subconscious mind

Conscious-Subconscious

Today I watched /listened to a video about the Conscious and Subconscious Mind and how both are very important in our progress with the Law of Attraction- I had to share the example they were talking about because it makes it so much easier to understand the import roles they play!

So first off just a quick reminder of the basics:

The Conscious Mind- Is the problem solver, decision maker

The Subconscious Mind- Runs like auto pilot, controlled by habits & routines.

A perfect example is driving a car to get to the same destination day after day. In the beginning your conscious mind is what you used to start the car, merge onto the specific hwy, exit at the correct location, turn left at your work building’s parking garage…….you get the idea, at first you had to consciously think to make the correct turns. After that becomes routine your subconscious mind takes over and gets you from point A to point B, you may even forget that you were driving there because it’s second nature yet you still arrive each day.

Think about the role your conscious mind plays in the LOA. You set aside time to study it, you might have a certain schedule you use such as (ex from The Secret book) holding your gratitude stone and saying what you are grateful for each night before you go to bed and then again each morning.

The role your Subconscious mind plays once you have consciously set these habits is to become parallel with your desires to continually send out the same message.

In other words if you are only using your Conscious mind with the LOA that would mean you are taking time out to (for example) write in your gratitude journal but then the minute you close that you are back to everyday life which may include struggle, complaining,negativity…..

In short, your goal would be to take your practices with the LOA using your conscious mind SO MUCH that is becomes a routine in your subconscious mind that way you are in line with your desires.

That was a bit harder to write out then I thought so I am going to sum up the entire post in one easy sentence:

Use your conscious efforts often so they become routines, in turn your subconscious will be continue the efforts without trying.

Think of how much of a difference it would make to subconsciously always have your mind thinking positive, feeling abundance and reaching toward goals vs. only using your conscious mind for the 10 mins. you are writing in your journal. WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!

Not perfect, but hopefully understandable!

Book Review: The Complete Idiot’s Guide to The Law of Attraction

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to The Law of Attraction

complete-idiots-guide-law-attraction-diane-ahlquist-paperback-cover-art

Book Theme: An easy way to understand the ins and outs of the LOA, think of it like a college cram session except in a positive way!

What Stands Out: The complete Idiot’s style format makes it all so simple also there are side notes, reminders, inspirational quotes and stories of success in each chapter.

Best for LOA beginners or Advanced: Best for beginners-it’s a crash course but I am not a beginner at all and I would still read it again since it’s easy but packed page to page with all of the info needed!

Learn Anything New: I learned some new trouble shooting techniques, so often LOA books don’t cover the common problems people face when starting (for good reason since you shouldn’t focus at all on it NOT working) but the truth is from the moment you take in these new concepts you are more than likely going to be working to break down years of conditioning from adulthood such as-you have to have a certain job, your income only comes from one source etc.

Would you Recommend: This book I would probably recommend before any other I have read (which is 20+ lost count) the concepts aren’t hard to accept from this writer, everything is very relatable and organized in order that  is most effective!
